Het nieuwe album Tate McRae heet THINK LATER. Het is de opvolger van haar debuutalbum i used to think i could fly uit 2022. Op 29 april treedt de Canadese singer, songwriter en danseres op in AFAS Live in Amsterdam.
Op THINK LATER staat onder meer Tates vorige single exes en de single greedy, die ze in september uitbracht. Die track stond wereldwijd nummer één op Spotify en is inmiddels ruim 430 miljoen keer gestreamd. THINK LATER werd geproduceerd door Ryan Tedder, die ook samenwerkt met Beyoncé en Taylor Swift.
Tate McRae over het album: “After freshly turning 20, when I began to zoom out and reflect on the relationships and situations in my life, I realized that a common thread was that I had been living and making decisions much more spontaneously and way less with my head for the past year. This album represents the feelings of falling in love, feeling glimpses of obsession, missing the signs, and feeling the repercussions. I really wanted to lean into a more pop leaning sound, and approach my writing from a way more playful and curious place. I was able to make this album with a few people I admire so much, and cannot be more grateful.”
In 2020 scoorde Tate McRae een hit met you broke me first. Op Spotify heeft die track inmiddels bijna 1,3 miljard streams. In mei 2022 bracht Tate haar debuutalbum i used to think i could fly uit. Aan het album – met inmiddels ruim anderhalf miljard streams – werkten diverse schrijvers en producers mee: onder anderen Charlie Puth, Greg Kurstin en Finneas drukten hun stempel op de plaat. Vorig jaar bracht Tate met Tiësto de single 10:35 uit. Daarvoor ontvingen ze een Billboard Music Award-nominatie voor Top Dance / Electronic Song.
De afgelopen twee jaar werd Tate McRae onder meer opgenomen in Variety’s Power of Young Hollywood-lijst en Billboard’s 21 Under 21. In 2021 stond Tate als jongste artiest ooit op de Forbes 30 Under 30-lijst.
In het voorjaar begint de 20-jarige Canadese singer, songwriter en danseres aan haar THINK LATER World Tour, waarmee ze op 29 april 2024 in de AFAS Live in Amsterdam staat. Vorige maand trad Tate McRae voor het eerst op bij Saturday Night Live.
