“Who can you love that makes you think about the past?
Who makes you weak and bends you at the knee?
Who can you love that makes you know that it will last?
Who holds for better days that we can’t see?”

Robert Jon en zijn The Wreck-crew, afkomstig uit het zuidelijke deel van de Amerikaanse staat California, zijn inmiddels al weer toe aan hun zevende studio-album. “Ride Into The Light” verschijnt via het nagelnieuwe label Journeyman Records van top-gitarist Joe Bonamassa. Ze werden dus omringd door een All Stars-ensemble en dat betaalt zich ook meer dan uit; ‘the resulting album finds the band reaching a new level of musicianship and songwriting prowess, delivering a fresh take on southern rock and roll, with catchy melodic Americana tunes and bluesy riff-driven sing-along roots rock songs, while evoking classic ‘70s bands. It’s packed with blistering blues-rock and sun-soaked Americana ballads, and it is as high-octane as it is soul-stirring, proving that good-old feelgood rock and roll – with soaring guitar leads, boogying grooves and rich vocal harmonies – is still thriving in 2023’.

Op 25 augustus verscheen het album: “Ride Into The Light”

The Southern California-based roots rockers Robert Jon & The Wreck will release their seventh studio album “Ride Into The Light” via Joe Bonamassa’s Journeyman Records. Packed with blistering blues-rock and sun-soaked Americana ballads, the new album is as high-octane as it is soul-stirring, proving that good-old feelgood rock and roll – with soaring guitar leads, boogying grooves and rich vocal harmonies – is still thriving in 2023.

Reinvigorating their traditional production process, The Wreck teamed up for this release with the legendary producers Don Was (John Mayer, Bonnie Raitt), Dave Cobb (Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton), Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, The Black Crowes) and guitar maestros Joe Bonamassa and Josh Smith (Marc Broussard, Eric Gales, Joanne Shaw Taylor). The resulting album finds the band reaching a new level of musicianship and songwriting prowess, delivering a fresh take on southern rock and roll, with catchy melodic Americana tunes and bluesy riff-driven sing-along roots rock songs, while evoking classic ‘70s bands as The Allman Brothers Band, The Eagles and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Robert Jon & The Wreck have had a very productive year so far with several new studio tracks dropping, along wild videoclips, as well as their first-ever concert film “Live At The Ancienne Belgique”, which saw the light as a cd+dvd-release last April. Recorded during their sold-out show in Brussels on June 29th, 2022, the release captures The Wreck amid their longest-ever tour (67 performances in 75 days across 9 countries). The night was nothing less than spectacular, featuring a setlist that spanned the last decade of their career, from their 2013-debut to their 2022-release “Wreckage”.

The prolific songwriters they are, with a wealth of new material, the band’s new partnership with Joe Bonamassa’s new label Journeyman Records affords them the opportunity to work with the world’s top producers and ensures a steady stream of high-quality releases on an ongoing basis, cutting through the ‘constrained’ traditional music industry and making their new music accessible to the fans as it is intended to be!
