Powerful, authentic rock from California: That’s L.A. Edwards, the band led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Luke Andrew (L.A.) Edwards, and his brothers, guitarist Jay Edwards and drummer Jerry Edwards.
With “Already Gone” the Band of Brothers now presents the first single release from their upcoming third studio album “Out of the Heart of Darkness”. In “Already Gone” dark feelings meet the Californian temperament of L.A. EDWARDS. Insomnia and the discomfort between sleeping and being awake – they influenced the songwriting; ultimately, it’s about finding your own freedom.
“We wanted to make a dark, apocalyptic rock song with Already Gone,” Luke Edwards explains. “Just imagine being stuck on a sinking ship or not being able to wake up from a bad dream. We cranked up the drums – and with the lead guitar part and the spooky harmonies, we had a lot of fun.”
“Already Gone” has already received positive feedback, including prominent placements on Apple Music’s “New in Alternative” playlist and Digster’s “Hot Alternative” playlist.
The band – whose style has been described as “harmonies like the Eagles, interwoven guitars like the Stones, the melancholy of Jackson Browne and the working class optimism of Petty himself” – has just very successfully completed several showcase gigs at the legendary “South By Southwest” (SXSW) in Austin, Texas.
Now the band is in the starting blocks for their tour as support for the US singer-songwriter The White Buffalo. He in turn became known in this country with songs for the TV series “Sons of Anarchy” and “Californication”, among others. Together, L.A.EDWARDS and The White Buffalo are already on tour for the seventh time – a billing that is definitely worth seeing and hearing.
The album “Out of the Heart of Darkness” will be available in Europe on June 2, 2023 as CD and on vinyl – on their own label Bitchin’ Music Group and in collaboration with MARS Label Group (distributed by The Orchard). It was mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Tom Lord-Alge (Blink-182, Dave Matthews Band, Steve Winwood) and mastered by Ted Jensen/Sterling Sound. Digitally, it was released in January.
