Na het gigántische succes van James Bay’s debuutalbum ‘Chaos And The Calm’, waar onder andere doorbraaksingle ‘Hold Back The River’ en monsterhit ‘Let It Go’ op staan, volgden nog albums ‘Electric Light’ (2018) en ‘Leap’ (2022).

Nu, bijna tien jaar na zijn debuut, komt James Bay met een vierde studioalbum. Op ‘Changes All The Time’ vindt Bay eindelijk de volledige vrijheid te maken wat hij wil, zo legt hij uit: “Making this album felt like my first taste of true musical freedom. With the help of my co-producer, Gabe Simon, I found the courage to make what I wanted to make in ways I never have before. That’s a very hard place to get to, I’m really excited to release this music.”

De eerste single van het album, ‘Up All Night’, schreef Bay samen met Noah Kahan en The Lumineers en laat direct zijn hernieuwde sound en muzikale ontwikkeling horen.

Onlangs verscheen de tweede single van zijn nieuwe album: ‘Easy Distraction’, dat gaat over het te laat beseffen hoeveel iemand eigenlijk voor je betekent. Voor het nummer werkte de Britse singer-songwriter samen met Brandon Flowers (The Killers), een bucketlist-momentje voor James Bay: “I found out from a mutual friend that Brandon was interested in writing with newer artists, so I jumped at the chance and went to work with him in Park City, Utah over in America. It was an unbelievable experience and insight into writing with one of my heroes. I hope we get to do more!”
