| “DON’T LOOK AWAY!” is the long-awaited debut studio album from Nashville rock outfit, Jacob & The Dazey Chain. The project is the vision of 21-year-old Jacob Reese Thornton; a prolific singer, guitarist, and songwriter originally from South Florida. On this record, Jacob brings a richness and depth to his music that exceeds his years, wearing his early influences on his sleeve. The result is an utterly unique blend of Brit-pop and alternative rock. Lyrically, the album’s main themes surround self-belief and finding hope as a new era unfolds. It was recorded between 2022-2024, primarily self-produced in Jacob’s bedroom studio. The record features members of Foo Fighters (Rami Jaffee), My Chemical Romance (Jamie Muhoberac), and Band of Horses (Bill Reynolds). Select tracks were produced by producer/mixer veteran Mark Needham (The Killers, Fleetwood Mac).
The new album also coincides with the end of Jacob’s first East Coast US and UK club tour. Dates included headline performances in Manchester and London, as well as a sold-out hometown show in Miami, FL. During the rollout, Jacob’s Spotify following increased to over 12,000 monthly listeners and amassed an impressive 500,000 streams across his released catalog. Furthermore, singles “Roots Run Deep” and “Cutting You Out of My Life” were selected by Apple Music for inclusion in their New in Alternative and New in Rock editorial playlists, respectfully. VEVO also took a shining to Jacob’s official music videos, placing his content on their Incoming Alternative, New On VEVO and VEVO Pure Rock editorial playlists.
