Vandaag heeft George Ezra zijn derde album Gold Rush Kid uitgebracht. Op Gold Rush Kid bezingt George hoe hij inzag dat twee tegenovergestelde verlangens (touren en thuis zijn) naast elkaar kunnen bestaan.

George: “The Gold Rush Kid? That’s me. Coming back off all the touring for the second album, I was really struck by what it was like to be away from the people you know and love for so long. But then, when you think about it, touring is also a thrill –  you get to see all these amazing places. And I realised they were two polar opposites that can’t exist at the same time – but they’re both worth pursuing! And, actually, that means you’re doing alright. Because it means that both sides of your coin are quite appealing.”

Van Gold Rush Kid verschenen eerder de singles Anyone For You, Green Green Grass en I Went Hunting. Gold Rush Kid is de opvolger van Wanted On Voyage (2014) en Staying At Tamara’s (2018). George’s single Shotgun uit 2018 – goed voor bijna 730 miljoen streams – leverde hem een Brit Award voor Best British Male Solo Artist op.

Op 1 maart 2023 speelt George Ezra in de Ziggo Dome.
