Far From Saints, de nieuwe band met Kelly Jones van Stereophonics en Patty Lynn en Dwight Baker van The Wind and The Wave, heeft al een indrukwekkende introductie gemaakt met de eerste twee singles, ‘Let’s Turn This Back Around’ en ‘Take it Through The Night.’ De nieuwe single ‘Screaming Hallelujah’ is de openingstrack van het debuutalbum dat uitkomt op 16 juni.
‘Screaming Hallelujah’ opent met een zachte akoestische riff van Dwight Baker en begint met soulvolle, bitterzoete call-and-response vocalen van Patty Lynn en Kelly Jones voordat hun harmonieën verweven raken met een hoorbaar organische connectie op de stijgende, dramatische hook van het nummer. ‘Screaming Hallelujah’ biedt een boodschap van acceptatie aan een geliefde die een moeilijke overgangsperiode doormaakt. Het nummer is geschreven en geproduceerd door Far From Saints en gemixed door Al Clay (Blur, Pixies).
Patty: “I was thinking about how we should try to grow right along with them, because they’re still here.”
Kelly: “It’s about change and growth, but with all the struggles that come with that. With every song I write, I try to write about the whole struggle but leave a light at the end of the tunnel.”
De bijhorende video, geregisseerd door Kelly Jones, bevat opnames van het eerste grote optreden van Far From Saints tijdens het Teenage Cancer Trust gala in London’s Royal Albert Hall.
Far From Saints gaat op tour in de UK, met special guest-optredens bij Kings of Leon, Paul Weller en Hozier. Ook zal de band spelen op zomerfestivals als Glastonbury.
