About Morning and Jean

In recent months, David Newbould has been on a whirlwind journey. In May, he delighted listeners with a double-sided single, featuring “Nobody Knows” and “Milwaukee.” He also graced the stage at the Americana West Music Festival in LA and embarked on a West Coast tour alongside label mate Rosy Nolan. Returning home, he has been hard at work, diligently crafting tracks for his upcoming album release.

Adding to the excitement, David Newbould is set to kick off a three-week European tour this November with his band. To celebrate this musical journey, he will be releasing two brand-new singles, “Morning” on October 27 and “Jean” on November 10. Both singles will be available on all major streaming platforms and are being released under the Blackbird Record Label.

What sets these singles apart is the unique and intimate recording process. David Newbould took a hands-on approach, producing and recording both tracks in a primitive fashion at his home studio, Carport Lovin’. He played all the instruments himself, using whatever microphones and skills he could cobble together.

Regarding the process, Newbould shared, “Just whatever mics and skills I could cobble together. Was fun!” The mixes for these tracks were assisted by his longtime producer friend, Billy Harvey.

With “Morning” and “Jean,” David Newbould continues to captivate audiences with his distinctive sound and storytelling prowess. Be sure to mark your calendars for the release dates and follow David Newbould on his musical journey.
